Vintage, Home Decor and Lifestyle at Museum Center Vapriikki

mood: Devendra Banhart - Brindo

This Sunday was full of  fascinating events, such as Home Decor and Lifestyle Event at Museum Center Vapriikki, Designtori at Pakkahuone&Klubi and a laaaaarge "second hand" sale happening named "Peräkonttikirppis" in city center.

Unfortunately I missed Peräkonttikirppis, but have some pictures to share from other events. Aaaaand as I got a bit too excited while photographing, I find it rather reasonable to divide this post on to two parts.

Let's start with Home Decor and Lifestyle Event.

Comics and Cosplay... Tampere Kuplii 2014

I like happenings, and comics and people dressed in amazing, unexpected way.

So this time my photo-report is about Tampere Kuplii (bubbles) comics festival.  This five day event consisted of seminars, panel discussions, work shops, sale-events and exhibitions, with culminating point being a Sarjakuva-Finlandia-prize (a prize to a finnish artist, for a successful comic album) ceremony and a cosplay costume competition.

Expectedly, i was drawn by a visual side of the event,  so my pictures here are mostly cosplay themed.

Give me some music... Valtteri music festival

Scandinavian Music Group - Balladi 1

This summer (2013) was full of music
You could hear it from open windows, restaurant terraces and  numerous "open stages"
Also this summer was full of concerts and festivals

This post is about Valtteri music festival

Valtteri festival is a 3 days event based in the city center of Tampere during Midsummer (Juhannus) celebration. The festival got his name after a ghost of the 13 year old Red Soldier "Valtteri" who was killed during the civil war. Legend says that he still hunts the cultural center "Tullikamari".

Festival program consisted of two parts: free of charge day events for all ages and evening program in Pakkahuone and Klubi venues. Among the performers were Scandinavian Music Group, Eva & Manu, The Bad Ass Brass Band, Yona & Orkesteri Liikkuvat Pilvet, Ville Leinonen, Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha, Ochre Room, Riitaoja, Tanssiorkesteri Ajomiehet, TBA, bands Red Snapper and The Skins from UK and Iva Nova from Russia.

Long time no see... or "Desert Hunter"

Bat For Lashes – Daniel (Mt Eden Dubstep Remix)

Had a pretty busy period lately... I was busy, as a one-armed paperhanger :)
...but now it is time to revive this sweet brainchild of mine :))

Aaaaaand, I find it logical to start with a short review of things we've done last year.

First of all, in the beginning of year 2013, my dear friend Ksenia came to visit me :) Ksenia is a promising make-up artist from Moldova. If you want to see her works, you can follow this link. Somehow, a sweet muse of mine, Marina managed to join as here in Tampere, so we hand no other options than to "play" :)
We created a fast photo-shoot... from scratch, without planning and preparations. Theme was summer inspired, it came with memories of lazy hot days. We were inspired by sand, warm wind and deadly dangerous sun, tribal cultures and brave desert hunters.
